There have been far too many news stories uncovering what goes on in the pet food industry–misleading claims, inaccurate labels, toxic ingredients, and worse. Our meals are great for your pups and made of all wholesome ingredients that are delicious (and recommended) for humans themselves!
Feeding Your Puppy
Like most dogs, your puppy likely won’t need any encouragement to eat and this will be especially true if you’re feeding them Rick’s Dog Deli meals! As you might have noticed, our food isn’t like the dog food you’re used to seeing in the pet food aisle at your local store.
Our meal formulations have been quickly frozen to lock in nutrients and flavor, so they will need to be thawed before you can feed it to your puppy. This can be accomplished overnight in the refrigerator.
In the evening, simply take out the amount of food your puppy will need for the next day and place it in a container in your fridge. If you need to thaw it faster, you can leave it out on the counter for up to one hour. You can also place the food in a zip-top bag and submerge it in cool water.
Our handy Feeding Chart can help you determine how much puppy food your dog needs, but keep in mind that this chart was designed for adult dogs. Your puppy will need slightly more calories, as they are still growing.
Rick’s Dog Deli meals do not need to be heated; they’re perfectly appetizing at room temperature!
